First Draft of an International Convention on the Right to Development

In October 2018, the UN Human Rights Council mandated the Working Group on the Right to Development to begin work on the drafting of a binding instrument on the Right to Development. This draft is now available and will be discussed in the 21st Working Group Session in November 2020. The statement of the German Institute for Human Rights summaries the draft and assesses its strengths and weaknesses.
